A Dance Performance
Starring Lyne Pringle & Kilda Northcott
"There was humour and deeply felt opinion, tension and peace and a generosity that came from the heart. It was an honour to be caught in this Fishnet and to be held both by the strands of rope that bind these two women and to share in the spaces that they make their own." Capital Times
"In a very funny, representational and occasionally serious show, the pair presented a mix of parody, mischievous routines and lyrical sequences." New Zealand Listener. The interplay between inertia and absurdity provides an infectious tension as Northcott and Pringle struggle their way towards a dynamic, poignant and highly visible finale as the ugly bitch, the sexy crone and everything/anything in between.
At times hilarious – at times deeply moving – Fishnet is a rapturous exploration of the expressive body by two of New Zealand’s celebrated senior contemporary dancers.
The music is by award winning group Plan 9 and the direction by Madeline McNamara.
A transformation - a transcendence - a ritual of being - a striptease, visible/invisible

Choreography by Lyne Pringle. Stunning hit musical about a fictional town where a water shortage has led to people having to pay to pee. A clever take on current global issues. With a stellar cast this show garnered great reviews with particular praise for the choreography.

Photos by Jenny O'Connor Kilda Northcott appeared most recently as Demeter in this stunning promenade theatre event. Directed by Madeline McNamara and part of the STAB season of cutting edge work at Bats Theatre. "IF you like your theatre non-interactive and at a distance, Demeter’s Dark Ride is not for you.
Nor if you like actors to be metres away from you, rather than right behind you or pulling you into and out of line. This is a procession rather than a play, something designed to tug at your senses – all of them.
This is perfect boundary-pushing STAB season fare, incorporating high and low tech, a myriad of theatrical disciplines, high calibre practitioners and endless imagination. Capital Times."

Lyne Pringle solo performance Sounds Peter Daube - Old Yeller Concert TAPAC
Excerpts from reviews of Old Yeller "It was a pleasure to see the dancing body expressed by a not-so-young generation with nuance, humour and confidence in a range of short works. This celebration of our dance heritage needs to be repeated." NZ Listener Dec 2004
"Extensive performance experience came to the fore in Lyne Pringle's solo ...this markedly New Zealand piece impressed with strong dancing." Danznet Dec 2004

Performance and launch of Nigel Brown's exhibition inspired by the "Dance of the Origins" poem by Denys Trussell and the choreography of Alison East. A new book of the poem is now available!!
"This 2004 revisiting has three dancers; Lyne Pringle, Kilda Northcott and Valerie Smith accompanied by three Otago musicians, composer and violist Alan Starrett, Trevor Coleman and Peter Adams.
Choreographer and dance lecturer at Otago University, Ali says "This time the impetus was to complete the cycle. It is a completely difference dance, a completely different concept. The choreography was inspired in this case not directly by the poem but by the paintings that were inspired by the poem. We studied the paintings, Nigel talked about each painting, his ideas and inspiration. We combined these into an evolving collage of ideas, little scenarios really".

Performers Ryhs Latton, Rachel McLarin & Lyne Pringle. Excerpt from a review of the Happy gig
"It's the real thing this - free jazz and aleatoric movement to match with the surreal and the stylised all mixed in, motifs and echoes that reinforce the randomness and loopiness of much that happens within reality. ... the saxophone has a frisson of inspiration, the voice grinds deeper into the underground and these very smart movers are warming up, stepping back out then in again to improvise a giant scale body language of the thoughts that usually lie privately inside people's heads" Jennifer Shennan, Dominion Post
